3 violation punishments

Greetings everyone, i assumed that majority of you guys know about the new punishment already? For those who did not come for the council meeting, heres the gist of it. Here is the list of the main reasons that will result in getting one violation.

Not signing in and signing out for duty
Not doing duties regularly
Borrowing or lending of badge and tie
Not bringing tie or badge without a valid reason ( have to tell any of the council teachers or Ren Yi before flag raising starts)  If tie is stained or spoiled, will have to see the tie’s condition as councillors will have to show them their ties or a photo of the stained tie. Lost of badge or tie will have only a maximum of 2 days allowance to get hold of a new tie or badge
Getting Detention
Complains from teachers like defiance towards teachers ( will get the full story before adding a violation to the councillor’s name upon getting a complain from any teacher)
Failure to comply with the school rules (eg. Using hand phones at the classroom block without a valid reason or permission from teacher) [includes rude behaviour even during council meeting] Councillors will go through attire check when they sign in for duty by Ren Yi, Alicia or Nicole.
Late upon reporting for duty
Not coming for council meeting without a valid reason

Please note that after 3 violations, we will come and find you and you will have to do some student service, and right after the student service, if you hit another 2 violations, you will be getting the contract. Any of the above violation that you make will result in 1 violation, you may not even know when we mark you down for violation. This new punishment will start from today onwards. The violations (chances) will be "renewed" new year when the school term starts again. All these punishments apply to the Excos also. Please also note that any of the council teachers or I has the right to add on to the violations for example because you are very rude during council meeting and it is really over board. Though we have implemented this new punishment, I still hope that neither the council teachers or I needs to give anyone the student service as punishment or the contract.

Greetings all! All councillors please take note, councillors who are not involved in the speech day will be involved as ushers. You guys will have to report to Miss Ruva on 30th March at 2.30pm at the foyer for the rehearsal. The rehearsal will end at 7pm. Attendance is compulsory and will be taken. You guys are also to be informed that you guys need to collect the consent form from Miss Ruva on 29 March, this coming Monday. Lastly, for those who helped out yesterday for the PTM in school, be it ushering or helping out at the registration counter, well done and thank you so much for the help:) Hope you guys have a pleasant day;D

Student Leaders Seminar

During the march holiday,
a selected batch of student councillors went to Republic polytechnic
to attend a STUDENT LEADERS SEMINAR
which was organised by {Youth Leader Of Singapore}.
We were very honoured to have a Question and answer session where our enquires would be answered by the minister himself after his talk.
There were a few important points which the minister highlighted.

Firstly, a good leader is a leader with a vision and the ability to achieve his or her plan.
The leader must be able to convince his passion to his followers and make sacrifices to achieve his goal.
The leader must be competent and knowledgeable in the domain he is in.
Personally I feel that even how knowledgeable or competent a leader is, he would still achieve nothing but failure if he is arrogant, complacent as well as not being vigilent.

Secondly, a leader must build team work and assemble the team with different strong areas. Without any followers you cannot be a leader.
The leader would also need to make decisions and be responsible for the outcome.
Leaders must be compassionate and be mindful of the benefit of the interest of the group.
They would also need to be paying more attention to the weaker members of the group and make sure they do not fall behind.

Thirdly, as a good leader, you must have a successor to take over.
You must identify whether or not the successor shares the same passion as you.
As the overall leaeder in charge ,you must tell the successor what the group wants and make sure he has the ability to do it.

The last point is a good leader has to operate in a multi culture environment and get to know about other foreign students.

Lastly I would like to thank the teachers who has organised this trip on behalf of the student council who has participated in this event as we have benefited greatly from it.

A good leader has to be a leader wih vision . You must be convinced that this is the vision you want.
The Five good points .
1) Have a clear vision.
2)Passion must be in your heart
3)You must be competent
4)Compassionate
5)Must be flexible and must be adaptable.

What do they mean by flexible and adaptable ?
It simply means that we must be willing to change course when environment has changed.
Change : Ability to change to the ultimate.

Whether its better for you to step down, to let better leader to take over you to make the group more interested , or you let the leader pursue your passion .

Being a leader, you sometimes can also make unpopular decisions whereby no one supports this particular idea at all. But only by persuading and giving your followers the trust then they will follow this decision that you have made even if they do not agree with you, because the trust is there, they will still follow. Hence, being a good leader, persuading your fellow followers and giving them your trust so that they can in return give you their trust then good decisions can be made even if the decisions are unpopular.

Points to think about :
- What you can do.
- Dont be afraid to try .
- Must be able to convince your team memebers , make them have confidence and trust in you.

"If you dont have team member , you cannot be a leader. A leader must have followers.
eventually, you must make the decision and must take the reponsibility."

" Risk of failure should not be the reason of not doing it . "

Greetings everyone, firstly, thank you all the sec4 councillors for everything especially setting the platform for us, all the best in your future and studies especially your coming O levels and N levels. Sorry i forgot to post something. Throughout the camp, the school will only provide the dinner and supper on the second day and breakfast on the third day. Other meals of the camp we will have to eat in school or like eat at koufu if you think you have enough time.

First of all, happy new year everyone:-D Cherine said she cannot download the packing list, so ya i will put the packing list at the end of the post specially for you and those who also cannot download the packing list. So ya just to clear other doubts, only the heads and co heads and all facilitators and everyone who are involve in the orientation night need to stay back on the 2nd day of the camp till the 3rd day of the camp, for other leaders who are involve in the camp, all of you can go home after the dinner and ushering duties, of course you guys can stay back and watch the orientation night performance too if you want too. Also take note that for those leaders who are not staying back in school on the 2nd day, of course you guys do not need to bring sleeping back and shampoo and everything that is stated in the packing list and are only of use if you stay back. But those leaders who are not staying overnight, please report at 6.45am on the next day. Next is to confirm the attire for the 3days camp with you guys:

All leaders and facilitators involve in the sec1 orientation camp next year, please take not that there will still be changes made on the schedule. The manpower list is more or less confirmed already. Before i talk about the dry run on this coming tueday, i would like to wish everyone a merry christmas and a happy new year! This coming last dry run, attendance is compulsory for everyone and there will be an attire check from head to toe, everything must be according to the school rules. All head facilitators are to report to 1e6 classroom at 8am and each of you guys are also to bring a face towel and your writing materials. The estimated time that the dry run will be ending will be at 6pm. Other leaders and facilitators are to be at 1e6 classroom at 9am. All facilitators are to bring 2 stacks of newspapers each and all program and logistics and other teams members are to bring recycled cups like yakult bottle or milk bottles or any drinks bottles, each person are to bring at least 2 each. All councillors are to be in their student council t-shirt with pe shorts and all cca leaders are to come in their full pe attire. 3D2N PROJECT TAP CAMP!

Hey people !
Alicia here :D I'm asked to post about the 3Days2Nights Project Tap ,
held during June holidays at Pioneer Secondary School recently :)
Okay , most of the sec 2 councillors did attend , and the camp was a success! :)
Our objectives of the camp are :

- Complete our NYAA component .

-To allow participants to understand the importance of water through water rationing exercise.

-To encourage teamwork amongst the participants as they experience water rationing together .

-To enhance creativity of participants as they come up with more or different ways to save water .

Firstly , whats Project Tap camp all about ?

'Project TAP was conceptualized with a simple aim of introducing youths to water rationing and has since developed into a project which seeks to convey a strong message of education and conservation.

It is to celebrate the exuberance of youth spirit, empowerment and spontaneity as well as to increase public’s awareness of its role in conserving Singapore’s precious water supplies . That is why in this camp, we emphasize on our potential as leaders, conservationists and fundamentally, youths with great ideals, positive energies and big plans !

Of course, Project TAP camp consist of many students from different schools ! :D '

Its really awesome that most of the campers were from our school councillors ! :D
We actually went to Marina Barrage , NEWater , as well as Jurong point for our road show !

What were we doing at Marina Barrage and NEWater ? We are actually learning on how clean water are cleaned for us to drink, as well as conserving water , and to create awareness to people around us !

In addition , we headed to Jurong Point the last day of the camp bright and early with smiles yet so tired . Upon reaching , groups were dispersed according to the jobs assigned . A massive lot of pupils clad in white Project TAP t-shirts crowd the area . The road show was a blast with a whole lot of us making it happen into reality .

(Ha! By chance , it was Ren Yi's birthday , and many of us ' SABO - ed ' him and made him do a dance ' Nobody nobody but you ' by Wonder Girls.
It was really awesome ! )

Learning Points !

->Ways of water conserving ~such as inserting water timbles .

->Water rationing ~1/2 pail of water for bathing and tooth brushing .

->Teamwork
~working with total strangers was tough yet we pulled through .

->Learned more about Marina Barrage and NEWater

National Day

The colours, people, jovial yet serious atmosphere was all part of this year’s National Day Celebrations. Yet again, we have successfully led the school in the singing of patriotic songs and the Aces Day exercise routine while enjoying ourselves at the same time .

When we asked the students what they enjoyed about the celebrations, many said that it was seeing their fellow schoolmates leading them in the unique workout while others preferred the solemn nature of the event. Nevertheless, the councillors have done a commendable job in all the aspects of the programme , from crowd control to leading the school in various ways .

‘The Council has proved itself as a good organizational body on this fine occasion,’ mentioned Toh Ghee Wei , President of the student council ,when asked what he thought about the council’s participation in the event . Needless to say , we do wholeheartedly agree with the president’s point , as it is only through our active involvement in such occasions that the student population will be able to form a closer alliance with them .
Thus, we do hope that the councilors maintain the same eagerness for the upcoming events.

Teacher's Day Celebrations

The Pei Hwa Student Council has put in optimal effort in ensuring that this year’s Teacher’s Day Celebrations was a success. Undeniably, the teachers were appreciative of all the beautiful cards and mouth-watering biscuits( special thanks to Megan!) which were painstakingly made by our councilors .Thus, it is only proper that we thank all the councilors and those in the echelon who have toiled such long hours in making sure that the event a successful one.

The students especially enjoyed the concert which was put up in collaboration with the Student Council and send their gratitude to not only the councilors but also the performers and teachers who were involved in making certain that the performance was carried out without any hindrances.

“ I would like to thank the council for their hard work and hope that they have learnt that it is only with team work and determination that we can achieve what seems to be the impossible ,” said Toh Ghee Wei , President of the Student Council . Indeed , it is only through sheer hard work that we will be able to achieve many things . Thus , we do hope that via the activities which the councilors have participated in , they have learnt invaluable lessons and that our school values and those of the council have been fostered .
Hats off to you, council!
