3D2N PROJECT TAP CAMP!

Hey people !
Alicia here :D I'm asked to post about the 3Days2Nights Project Tap ,
held during June holidays at Pioneer Secondary School recently :)
Okay , most of the sec 2 councillors did attend , and the camp was a success! :)
Our objectives of the camp are :

- Complete our NYAA component .

-To allow participants to understand the importance of water through water rationing exercise.

-To encourage teamwork amongst the participants as they experience water rationing together .

-To enhance creativity of participants as they come up with more or different ways to save water .

Firstly , whats Project Tap camp all about ?

'Project TAP was conceptualized with a simple aim of introducing youths to water rationing and has since developed into a project which seeks to convey a strong message of education and conservation.

It is to celebrate the exuberance of youth spirit, empowerment and spontaneity as well as to increase public’s awareness of its role in conserving Singapore’s precious water supplies . That is why in this camp, we emphasize on our potential as leaders, conservationists and fundamentally, youths with great ideals, positive energies and big plans !

Of course, Project TAP camp consist of many students from different schools ! :D '

Its really awesome that most of the campers were from our school councillors ! :D
We actually went to Marina Barrage , NEWater , as well as Jurong point for our road show !

What were we doing at Marina Barrage and NEWater ? We are actually learning on how clean water are cleaned for us to drink, as well as conserving water , and to create awareness to people around us !

In addition , we headed to Jurong Point the last day of the camp bright and early with smiles yet so tired . Upon reaching , groups were dispersed according to the jobs assigned . A massive lot of pupils clad in white Project TAP t-shirts crowd the area . The road show was a blast with a whole lot of us making it happen into reality .

(Ha! By chance , it was Ren Yi's birthday , and many of us ' SABO - ed ' him and made him do a dance ' Nobody nobody but you ' by Wonder Girls.
It was really awesome ! )

Learning Points !

->Ways of water conserving ~such as inserting water timbles .

->Water rationing ~1/2 pail of water for bathing and tooth brushing .

->Teamwork
~working with total strangers was tough yet we pulled through .

->Learned more about Marina Barrage and NEWater

Council meeting on 14 september 2009

Anouncement for all student councillors, there will be no student council meeting for all the sec 1s councillors. However, all sec 2s and sec 3s councillors are still reminded to attend the student council meeting at 1e1 classroom and please be there by 2.15pm, please be punctual!

Teachers day

From all student councillors, we wish all teachers a very happy teachers' day, and a million thank you to our dearest council teachers.  Also, for those who helped out in the teachers' day concert, well done, you guys have done a very good job! :)
